CEDAR (LIME) RIVIERA “DIAMOND”
A HUGE BEACH WITH AN EMERALD SEA
This is Diamond, one of the principal tourist destinations in Calabria, the city of fun, a movida without an ending, where night meets day, where the rhythm of life is scanned by the sun, sea and the will to live. Diamante is the city of murals where in the years many well known and not so well known artists have passed leaving a piece of their art by painting every house of this land. On the whole of the Cedar Riviera the holiday season is from May to September and the inland offers many attractions for the tourists: The remains of the ancient city of Cirella, the cultivation (The only one in Italy) of Cedars (Citrons) with infusions, liquors, cakes and ice creams (or crushed iced drinks). An ancient cuisine of flavours where characteristic restaurants are scattered along the coasts, where you can taste the famous “Pitticelle” Rosamarina fritters (small fish) or salted anchovies in “Ugnitti” small terracotta containers.
Diamante……………….why this name?????
Because it is beautiful, sparkling and fascinating as only a precious stone could be.
